London: Office of Tibet, London Representative Chonpel Tsering met with the co-chairs of All Party Parliamentary Group for Tibet in UK Parliament: Rt Hon Tim Loughton MP of Conservative Party and Hon Chris Law MP of Scottish National Party at their office in Portcullis House on 3 July.

Explaining to them the significance of Thank You Year being observed from 31 March 2018 to 30 March 2019 – to mark 60 years since the beginning of exile of His Holiness the Dalai Lama – by the Central Tibetan Administration and Tibetans everywhere, Representative Mr Tsering expressed gratitude to the two Parliamentarians for their support through the years in general and in particular for co-chairing the APPGT.

Mr Tsering then offered Certificates of Appreciation along with traditional Tibetan Khatas to both the Parliamentarians, as well as to their Parliamentary Assistants – a gesture which was much appreciated by them.

Among the activities to mark the Thank You Year, the Office of Tibet, London will be celebrating the 83rd birthday celebrations of His Holiness the Dalai Lama by hosting a reception at The Buddhist Society UK on Friday, 6 July to close friends and supporters. This will be followed by a festival the next day on 7 July (between 12-5 pm) in London Irish Centre, Camden to celebrate Tibet. Aptly titled Katrin: Festival of Tibetan Culture, this will be organised jointly by the office and the Tibetan Community in Britain, to showcase Tibetan culture to the general public here in UK as a way of expressing our gratitude for their support through the past 60 years of Tibetan exile.
